Spain is a truly majestic city with its ruins and monuments that fall under the world heritage sites protected under the provisions of UNESCO. In fact, out of all countries in the world, Spain has got the second most UNESCO world heritage sites and cities. This majestic country is located on the Iberian plain along with the Portuguese nation and together these two countries boast of a rich history.

The country that was the hub for commerce and arts through the dark ages today draws a large number of tourists because of its wonderful monuments and buildings, the laid back atmosphere of the inhabitants and the friendly nature that greets everyone as equals. The capital of Madrid and its coastal metropolitan city of Barcelona are probably the most well-known of all the cities while other fringe cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are some renowned towns. The visa requirements into the country are lax and those countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement are allowed direct entry and unlimited stay periods.

Some member countries of the EU are also given this privilege while all others have some or the other restriction on the duration of stay. Travelling into the country is easy with its many international airports and getting around are cheaper thanks to the many airlines and train services operating daily. Buses and taxis are also available to those who wish to travel by road. Boat is another preferred method to hop between cities as the country boasts of a large number of port towns.
